Sunday Update

February 7th, 2010

Prebeta launch tomorrow is not looking good. We’re all working hard today, but some things that are just outside of our control - they’re not worth getting into here. I’m frustrated, but determined that we’ll be able to find a solution soon.

Best-case scenario, things work out and the 500 prebeta invites go out tomorrow; worst-case scenario, you have to wait another week. At least that’s my best estimation at this point.

Anyway…we will try to think of some way to thank you for your endless patience. In the meantime, a new trailer will be revealed in the next day or so, so stay tuned…

    Oh really… That stinks, i’m now frustrated and sad. Not mad at you guys. Can we know what the issues are, anything to do with a website email me and I can help out with PHP HTML MySQL and some Javascript. ;) I can talk over skype if you acctually want to take my help if its needed or wanted. I really hope the game is not causing much problem. I just started using Unity and its annoying when something doesn’t work. Well whatever hope you guys can get it going thanks much.

    Hi, I think this is just not sad at all !
    If you need more time this doesn’t matter !
    I want a good game, so just release it just “as soons as it’s finished”, like a good video game company. We can wait another month if we’re shure the game is gonna be awesome (and i’m pretty shure of that ^^)
    I’m gonna make some new stuff because It’s a long time since I’ve played Atmosphir, but I can wait !

    I think it’s really amazing how everyone has changed in the last few months.
    Not too long ago everyone was complaining about having to wait another few weeks,
    now everyone seems to take it in stride and instead of gripping, they encourage.
    I would much rather play this game with people who have come through the hard times with good attitudes than with a bunch of whiners who want everything for free.

    Even when the going gets tough, you don’t break, you get stronger.

    Dave, I would just like to point out that we have stood beside you from the beginning and will continue to do so. If we must wait, we will wait. But remember that we will be here for you. I know things are driving you up the wall. Just don’t get too frustrated and get your cholesterol too high. ;)

    I’m jaded, I expected this. I’m not mad, in fact the opposite, I feel terrible for Dave and the guys just because I know exactly how they are feeling right now. Game release dates are always pushed back, it’s not the developers’ fault, these things happen to all companies. I’m sure it’s absolutely killed Dave and the team each and every time they had to break their word, but you’re setting yourself up for this when you set dates in stone. Unforeseen circumstances always come up. I’m sure this is a learning experience for Dave and MiSt, and I hope they can take something out of all this. What I hope the most though is that this mini-fiasco about the release date doesn’t keep Dave from being so candid with us like he has been. It’s been really cool to watch the game and the company grow, and hearing all about it from Dave. I hope this doesn’t drive him away from doing updates just out of the fear of letting something slip that might not come to pass.

    Peace and love to Dave and the team. It will all work out, I guarantee it.

    Oh man… I really want to play… I have been waiting and waiting… and I am not the most patient. I thought it was coming about six weeks ago, checked my email every day, even signed up for the beta waiting list thing even though I am a beta tester for the old version… I was looking forward to getting it…. I REALLY want it… If you need any help with this, by the way, I’d try to help.

    Ok , thanks for the update , i cant wait to test the beta , its the WAIT DRUG of atmosphir (WAIT DRUG : WG is a situation of a relase/update when many player are looking forward and litelary eating up their fingers) that got even me.
